The things that can be responsible for the ABS light to come on are bad or malfunction sensors, impulse ring on the CV Axles, or the control unit itself. But I will still advise you to have the vehicle scanned if it‘s OBD compliant.

Your electrician working on the rear lights, should not have anything to do with your idle control, unless he tampered with the wiring that controls the engine electronics, which should not have happened. Take the car to your mechanic and let them do a pressure test on the cooling system, with your explanation it sound as if there is a leak in the system. It could be from any part of the system, heater core, water pump, radiator, or any of the hoses. With the pressure test it will reveal the leaking area or parts. But if you have a warped cylinder head or blown head gasket, due to overheating, this could cause it to lose coolant.
