1961 Chevy Belair Generator to alternator conversion?
im doing a generator to alternator conversion on my 61 belair and wanted to know if anyone has dont this before and can send me to a site with the conversion wiring diagrams? ive already seen the mad enterprises site, but im still lost. anybody do this before?
The instructions for most chevies of the time should be close enough to handle the conversion. Off the top of my head, I'd have to think that one of the biggest considerations would be some type of voltage regulator, as well as making sure that the actual voltage of the system matches. Some early cars were 6 or 24 volts.
